The Active Reader 2

The Active Reader series is based on the premise that fluent readers actively engage with the text, using a variety of strategies. Each workbook provides ten carefully levelled reading passages relating to five popular themes: people, relationships, health and safety, environment, and history. Topics in The Active Reader 2 include Olympians Clara Hughes and Alex Bilodeau, talking to your doctor and landlord, treating a burn, giving medicine to children, avalanches and tsunamis, and the history of two Canadian symbols: the beaver and the maple leaf.
